Here are a few activities we've enjoyed over the years, along with a few useful links.  Also, you can check out the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce for more ideas.

WINTER ACTIVITIES:

There's always skiing and snowboarding at SNOW SUMMIT (did we mention you can walk to Snow Summit from the cabin?) or take the Shuttle from Snow Summit to Bear Mountain.

ALPINE SLIDE has a bobsled, go carts, mini-golf and sledding/snowplay in the winter.  Video games abound, as well. This is a fun activity for the kids.

SLEDDING right behind or right in front of STEPS-2-SUMMIT.

Yes, you drove all the way to Big Bear to go BOWLING.  The Bowling Barn is actually a very nice bowling alley.  Right next door is a laser tag amusement center!  And after you've finished bowling, why not take in a movie at the VILLAGE THEATER.

The Village is a  great place to take a stroll and do some shopping.

Have a nice, relaxing fire in the beautiful wood-burning fireplace at STEPS-2-SUMMIT.

SPRING - SUMMER - FALL ACTIVITIES:

There is a paved bike path that runs along Big Bear Lake -  a good flat section for little kids, and a steeper area for more accomplished riders. It's also a great place for a walk.  Bring your mountain bike with you on the ski lift at Snow Summit and ride down.  There are many available bike trails. If you don't bike, you can still take the ski lift up, enjoy a BBQ at the lodge, or bring your own picnic lunch, enjoy the views, and take the ski lift back.  The "Town Trail" is just adjacent to the cabin.  We enjoy a hike to the Village (park a car there in advance), and then have lunch, ice cream, or take in a movie - or just hike back to the cabin.

ALPINE SLIDE has a bobsled, go carts, mini-golf and a water slide (summer month's only)

The DISCOVERY CENTER across the lake is worth a visit - check the schedule for some great presentations. You might also enjoy the BIG BEAR HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Bowling and a movie at the Village Theater is a good choice for a summer outing.  Did you know there is a ZOO in Big Bear? And yes, there is a grizzley bear.

Enjoy one of the many marinas - lauch your own boat or or take advantage of the boat and jet ski rentals. Wake boarding is also very popular

at the lake.  There is a parasailing company if you would like to pretend you are a kite and a new Zip Line (office on Big Bear Blvd., (turn left at the signal on Thrush Drive).
